What's
biting in the flats and backcountry of Islamorada and the
Florida Keys!
The Florida Keys provide us with year round
flats fishing and a beautiful atmosphere to do so in. Whether
fishing
the backcountry of Florida bay or the endless flats that
surround the keys, you will revel in it's splendor.
During the winter months we catch Snook,
Trout, Redfish, residential Tarpon, and Bonefish. The Fall
brings in a strong population of Redfish as well as increasing
numbers of Snook and Tarpon.
Now in the spring the action is red hot!
With the annual migration of Tarpon in mid April even night
fishing is an option. (A great time
to catch BIG tarpon)
Late April to July brings to us some out
of control Florida Keys Tarpon fishing along with vast numbers
of the Ultimate Catch, the Grey Ghost, the Bonefish. The
Bonefish, a personal favorite of ours, is pursued by
both the Fly enthusiast and Spin fisherman alike. It is not
uncommon to find this species in excess of 12 lb.. However
most of the fish caught tip the scales around 8-10 lb. which
makes a #9 fly rod or 8 lb. spin tackle the tools of choice.
We provide our anglers with custom built
spinning rods in all line classes specifically suited to target
their needs and ability. We encourage and invite all fly fishermen
to bring their own rods as they are used to handling and casting
with their own equipment. We as well love to throw the fly!
